I was strolling by the Eiffel Tower and Trocadéro the other day, and saw this lovely little group of young American women, all primped up and ready for their photo shoot in Paris. I couldn’t resist, and asked their permission to take a few shots. After annoying them for a couple minutes as I snapped a few images, I left a card with one of them, and tossed a cheery thank you as I sauntered off. I hope they had a delightful time being immortalized in their fashionable best in front of the iron lady. Continue reading
I LOVE PARIS IN APRIL
Spring keeps teasing us here in Paris. We’ll get a really brilliant sunny day in between several cold and gray ones. It’s almost like you can hear a communal “Aaaaaaah!” throughout Pairs when the random gorgeous day glitters down upon us. and then a disappointed chorus of “Boooooo.” when we wake up the next day and see the drizzle or feel the chill. It was a couple Sundays ago, I think we all returned to work on Monday with a light pinkish hue on our fresh faces. Just about all of Paris was out lounging along the river banks of the Seine. I even ran into Sylvia of Finding Noon.
This little lady is taking the glossy pages, the runways and social media by storm, and is well on her way to becoming the next Kate Moss.
She has the ability to incarnate any different type of woman for the fashion brands. Whether it’s rock n’ roll, sweet and sexy or classic chic Cara has a chameleon-like way of changing her aura to fit the role she’s in. She owns the look, regardless if its a red carpet event, a lingerie ad campaign or her own life.
If you know Prête-Moi Paris, then you know we love pink!
Parisian gentlemen and pink, definitely go together.
I’m all for the dashing intelligent man with a chiseled jaw, in a rose hue and a good cologne. It’s the juxtaposition of a five-o’clock shadow and a light delicate color such a rose pale that really brings out the contrasting mâle and his softer side. A perfect blend of which, most women love. N’est-ce pas?!?
Annick Goutal has a new scent for men that I am dying to have Chéri try… Eau de Monsieur. It just sounds dashing and chic! I’m already convinced that it’s the epitome of Parisian male elegance.
Would you like to see YOUR chéri wearing pink? Does he already?!? Send me a picture of your chéri dressing in something pink… I’ll post them here below.
*Bisous de Paris…chéris!*
We are basculating between the last shreds of Summer and the beginning of the delicious part of Fall, the part were we get to take out our fabulous Fall pieces and enjoy them whilst the weather isn’t too harsh. Fall fashion is the best because we don’t need heavy winter coats yet. this gives us a chance to let our outfits be seen to the max.
A mix of cool, Summer inspired colors and plush Fall fabrics, and of course new Fall boots is a great way to kick of the new season, and Paris Fashion Week.
How are you dressing up for fashion week?
Summer vacation is over, but it has instilled in my a new energy which will hopefully carry me through the next 11 months. With that new energy I am determined to dedicate myself to taking more care of my body. Weather it’s exercise or yoga or dance, I’m going to do something to keep healthy. I much prefer new year resolutions in September rather than January. January is too cold and so not motivating!
But, of course I like to look good as well as feel good. So it’s time to invest in some trendy workout gear. Here’s how I see myself feeling motivated to go out and make some laps or do some downward dog poses. Comfy in some Andrew Marc Performance wear, (45$ sweatshirt and 55$ yoga pants) and chic with a Kasia Dietz tote, rive droite of course!
And what am I going to do with all this new found energy?!? Why, I am going to take Paris by storm. And in Style. What else! The Fall season is the ultimate fashion season. All the best collections come out in the shop window displays and the hustle and bustle of the fashion weeks around the world make everyone just nearly crazy. It takes a lot of stamina for those that skip from one major city’s shows to another. I stick to just Paris thank you. But it still requires a lot of my attention, time, and again…that word, energy. So with my new workout regime, I should have it in plethora!
I’m thinking this year should have a rocker/Art Deco theme to it. With sharp and harmonious energetic lines and angles. Gone are the lazy days of Summer! A sleek and broody Marc New York by Andrew Marc dress (138$), with a Gaultier shrug (110€), Nicholas Kirkwood flats, a Lanvin cuff and some ultra defiant black shades (60$) should make the perfect Paris fall disguise for Fashion week this September… Who’s with me!?!
August, the month of the “Aoûtiens” as the French call it. Meaning, those who take their vacation holiday in August. The “Juilletistes” are the ones who head out of town in July. I am an “Aoûtienne”. I like having my vacation end at the end of the final Summer month. (I consider September a Fall month even though Summer usually extends itself well into it). And so as I go from Parisian to vacationer… it seems only natural to express that metamorphosis in style. I get to shed the city clothes for a more relaxed wardrobe in which I intend to shed off the fatigue accumulated this past year. But, try as you might, you can’t remove the city girl style completely, even when on a Summer escapade with Chéri. Continue reading
