I love tea. I drink a whole pot of it in the morning. Some of you got an insight into breakfast chez Chéri & moi this past winter. I find that it wakes me up gently, quenches my thirst and offers me a delightful indulgence for the papilles (taste buds in French…it sounds better). I do like to indulge in Mariage Frères teas, as you may have read about here before. But with the amount of tea that I consume, that could quickly become quite expensive. So I have scouted out some address in the city where I get high quality teas at a slightly lower price, and then I don’t feel the need to skimp on dosage.

Paris Cola delivered some of their tasty beverages to my door the other day. It’s delicious and refreshing. I thought it would make a good compagnion with me at the parc de Monceau one lovely day in July. I had brought along my French novel to read, but I ended up just working on my blog with my smartphone.
So the company that makes this lovely beverage, Fonbelle, run by two young guys, invented a first version in 2007. But although the response was great they didn’t find the time to really develop and launch the product until 2012. Typical multi-taskers of our day and age I am sure.
Once the recipe was perfected they come up with the packaging concept. And now we can enjoy their sweet and zesty beverage as much as we want!
The two guys behind this all, Yves Guilloux and Rodolphe Grosset, wanted to offer a quality product, made in France. But Paris Cola can boast that even the sugar used in the recipe comes from the Île-de-France. So really, it’s as Parisian as you can get for a sparkling beverage!
And they don’t just offer cola… Continue reading
This one is for the boys!
Planète Rasoir… A totally masculine boutique with all you guys need for shaving. The gentleman who runs the place is a total enthusiast. When I arrived at the store he was have an animated conversation with an equally as excited client – about shaving blades, lotions and other paraphernalia. I thought it was great that men can also be enthusiastic about their facial care. After all it is their face that they show to the world, so why wouldn’t you want to be über picky about what you shave it with daily?!?
Le Petit Duc invited us over to their sparkling new boutique on rue de Rapp in the 7th to taste test their delightful products.
Le Petit Duc has a two word philosophy : Pationelle & Tradisserie
Which are actually two words mixed and matched together : Patisserie and Traditionelle. They have taken the two concepts and sliced them together to create their own definition, one that treats tradition with passion and a lot more. Continue reading
Miss Mary, of Fox in Paris showed me a place that she had discovered, which is right up my alley.
A store that has gone totally nuts!
I had been planning on investing in a little something for Chéri and I…but I had not committed to anything yet. And then, I was innocently wandering down a lovely street in the Marais, my mind on things like home décor and an “apothicary style” dinning room… I was minding my own business, when this store just came up on the trottoir and literally PULLED me in! I am not kidding you! I had no part in it whatsoever. None.
And when I was in there, I was really only going to look. REALLY!
Paul Waters a.k.a. “Pastry Boy” of Cake & Bake invited me over to his boutique on rue Lancry in the 10th for an in depth demonstration of how to decorate a cake in fondant. Little did I know the surprise he had in store for me! He had conceptualized a cake just for Prête-Moi Paris! I was thrilled to watch the “sculpting” happen right before my very eyes, and to capture it all on video for you. In addition to being photogenic and just plain charming, Paul also has an expert hand, it meticulous when creating his masterpieces. He always made sure everything was just perfect! And of course, made it all look sooooooo easy in the process!
See what he is capable of here…and hold on to your bakers hats…this video goes fast!

A new shopping concept has hit the internet shopping scene. This website I am presenting to you has created a venue online where you can shop local boutiques in far away cities. What do I mean? Well… you know that little boutique on rue Montorgueil in Paris that sells items that can only be obtained by WALKING into THAT store… well not anymore. You can now shop items from that store through the wonderful world of Shoptiques!

She was one of the first women in Paris to acquire a motorized vehicle! The wealthy countess of Presle. She loved to drive, but like any self respecting parisienne at the time (or now for that matter) took great care to preserve her beauty while remaining fantastically wild as one of the only women to drive a car around Paris. And in those days for a jolie automobilist, some beauty preservation was indeed urgently needed. Cars did not have a roof let alone a windshield! They looked something more like this : Continue reading
Bonjour mes cheris!
I was introduced via twitter to a site called Red Bubble. A place where designers and creatives can create products with their own designs, and *gasp* sell them! I LOVE the concept! Being a creative junkie myself, and always hungry to “make” something…I hoped on that bandwagon in a Paris minute.
So far I only have a few iphone cases designed, but I hope to soon add more.

As many of you bloggers out there know, owning and curating a site like this takes a lot of extra cash, and time (and time= money, as they say)…and sometimes it is nice to have a little bit of a return on the investment. And what’s even better is that I get to be creative in the meantime!
Check back often on my Reb Bubble shop and see if I have added anything new. I will surely let you know here if I do!
