My Blog in Review : 2013

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

WordPress, this wonderful platform I have been blogging on for several years now has been so sweet as to prepare a fun, and interesting review report of 2013 on my blog. Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 130,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 6 days for that many people to see it.

Ringing in 2014

Cheers! Opening the bubbly for #NYE !!! With @ellacoquine and our chéris :-)Chéri and I had a fun intimate party for New Years Eve, at our place with Lisa of Ella Coquine with her chéri and our good friend Sophie. It was nice to just have a small group of good people gathered together to laugh, drink some bubbly, eat decadent delights and be silly until well past the pumpkin hour.

I served some of my remaining champagne from Mon Champagne, Hediard foie gras (splurge!), Lisa brought smoked salmon bites with a totally amazing dairy/soy free creamy dill dip, and amazing sweet marrons marinés from Sophie, and then of course one of my favorite foods, nêms! Continue reading

Prête-Moi Paris turns 4!

My little pink blog is four years old this month. I can hardly believe that it has been so long already! Hmm actually, yes I can believe it. For such an simple and sweet publication it certainly demands a lot of my attention and energy… not always abundant when working a full time job as well.

But I haven’t given it up because it gives me such satisfaction and is my instantaneous creative gratification. Plus I get to share MY Paris with all of you! ♥

Tonight I am having a little fête to celebrate these past four years of Fashion, bubbly, gourmandise and DIY blogging in Paris, with a handful of bloggers and friends. And to share the love, I am showcasing a few friends’ brands at the party : Vintage Galerie, Kasia Dietz bags, Mon Champagne, Sugar Daze cupcakes and Cleopatra’s Bling.

Joyeux anniversaire Prête-Moi Paris!
Here’s to many more….

La Terrasse – Hôtel Raphael

HotelRaphael_EiffelView2 I wrote about where Lily and I lunched recently, and I also feel compelled to share another place with you all, where we went for champagne. This must be the absolute best terrace in the entire city of Paris. At the hotel Raphael, they have a beautiful lofty terrace with the most stunning views in the city. On one side of the 7th floor terrace, you get an eyeful of the Arc de Triomphe and the Sacre Coeur, and on the other the Eiffel Tower glows at you from a short distance, and there is a delightful breeze that caresses you up at this height.

So as you can imagine, getting a table required a little bit of patience on this hot summer evening when the who’s who of French business and journalism sipped cooling cocktails while discussing business with partners, and ultra chic tourists and Parisians pouted and pursed over champagne.

Bubbly at the Crillon

I had a lovely afternoon with my friend Milla the other day, garnished with champagne at the Crillon hotel lounge, one of Paris’ luxury palace hotels. I love going there for a treat, since I’m certainly not going to be booking a room there! But I can’t see how those gorgeous salons full of plush décor should be used by tourists and hotel guests only!
So off we went to enjoy a taste of the finer things in life, in an effort to balance the contrast of the dirty metro rides and the pile of ironing that glares at me from the corner. Let’s play luxury for an afternoon! Continue reading
